| Evoking railway imagery, Althoff’s work uses ten aluminium tube-chimes suspended to swing and be struck by rotating beaters. This creates a chance determined, ten-pitch “melody” underpinned by sounds from bamboo woodblocks and the rumble of beaters dragged over the floorboards. | |
