A miniature TV monitor is embedded in an illustrated dictionary. A viewer can sit at a desk and put on earphones. The sound track is a monologue on reading & writing - the construction of meaning through these practices. The video shows archival footage of the construction of books from early bookbinding to contemporary computerised mass production. Text written & performed by Anna Gibbs (This work has been shown at PICA & at Experimenta in Melbourne).
