Invitation to be part of the Australian Sound Design Project.

open to all sound designers of public space in Australia

Dear Sound Designer/Artist/Composer/Curator

You are invited to participate in the Australian Sound Design Project. The Project statement is attached. The nation-wide database and web site will network this important field in Australia for the first time and provide a detailed repertoire of sound designs from a variety of venues and locations. By creating a centralised database, this project, will facilitate a more detailed study of the relationship between acoustic space and sound design practice in Australia.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE

Please provide the following:

• Description of your practice with particular reference to your approach to site and space. Up to 500 words.
• An image of you or your team, preferably at work.
• Detailed description of 1 or 2 of your works involving sound design or composition in public space. Contributors are encouraged to articulate the work's engagement with site and texts may be up to 1500 words. Diagrams, photographs, concept designs and technical drawings are desirable in addition to audio and or video documentation.
• Signed copy of the Deed of Licence. This document gives us permission to reformat your material for publication on the web. Please note it is up to the designer/artist to seek the appropriate permissions to submit materials for which they do not hold copyright, such as photographs taken by other individuals.

Images may be sent as slides, prints, sketches or as computer files. Audio may be submitted on CD or DAT. Video on MiniDV or VHS. All materials will be returned but please do not send originals.

Please indicate all collaborators or industry partners in your projects as well as photographic credits etc.
